The original Founders and Partners of Costley & Partners remain the same guiding team today. The Firm’s Partners and our Senior Consultant Solicitor are responsible for managing their respective departments of expertise and the team of solicitors.

Andrew Costley

Andrew is a Founder and Managing Partner of Costley & Partners, with over two decades of experience in criminal law; residential property; and wills and probate affairs. Andrew is dedicated professional and committed to defending and advancing the best interests of clients. Andrew has tremendous expertise in representing clients in complex police investigations and serious criminal proceedings, including murder; serious organised crime; complex fraud; violent crime; and drug trafficking offences. Andrew fully understands the importance of client care and remains loyal to the founding principles of The Firm always go the extra mile; deliver total value; and always put a client’s best interests first.

Lindsay Markey

Lindsay is a Founder and Managing Partner of Costley & Partners. Lindsay’s principal expertise is family and matrimonial law. Approaching 30 years experience, Lindsay is a member of the Law Society's Children Panel representing Care Proceedings and Social Services issues. Lindsay has an excellent reputation for dealing sensitively and strongly with financial and children issues arising from divorce and separation. Lindsay has acted in high value disputes where there are numerous businesses and properties but gives the same input and expertise where there are lesser, but just as important, finances. The Family Law Department also all have extensive experience in all types of dispute relating to children. Lindsay believes that clients should be offered a variety of methods of solving disputes and is a fully qualified collaborative lawyer and a mediator.

Rod Smith

Rod is a Founder and Managing Partner of Costley & Partners and qualified as a Solicitor in 1991. Rod is a tenacious lawyer and advocate specialising in criminal law and defence. Rod has developed tremendous experience in police station investigations and complex criminal proceedings. In particular Rod has built a reputation of effectively dealing with issues which demand exploration and instruction of defence experts including, scientific evidence; forensic financial analysis; and medical examination. In the light of Rod’ experience and recognised competence, Rod has achieved Higher Right’s of audience, allowing advocacy rights to appear and represent clients in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal criminal division. Rod has previously represented a client in conjunction with Queens Counsel before a High Court Judge in murder trial proceedings in the Crown Court.

Russell Jenkins

Russell is a valued member of The Firm and operates as a Senior Consultant Solicitor. Russell is a highly respected lawyer in the legal profession and was recognised in Wales Online as a “Titan” and “Goliath” of the business world in Wales. Russell offers particular expertise in residential and commercial property and wills and probate affairs. Moreover, Russell has specialist experience in sport law - with a particular emphasis on Rugby Union, including regulatory matters and commercial contracts. Russell’s reputation has built an impressive portfolio of private clients. Russell is a former National Representative and Trustee of the Welsh Rugby Union and is currently Life President of Crawshay's Welsh RFC and a Trustee of the Welsh Rugby Former International Players Association Charity.
